Merseyside Asbestos Support Group raises over £2,000 for JHMRF
Following last year’s Action Mesothelioma Day, the Merseyside Asbestos Support Group has donated £2250 to JHMRF.
The group teamed up with the Cheshire Asbestos Victims Support Group to host the event, one of a series of awareness days held across the country each year on the first Friday in July.
A highlight of the day was the opportunity for families affected by an asbestos-related disease to take part in a dove release. The doves are intended to commemorate all those who have died from or are suffering from diseases such as mesothelioma. Each of the doves was sponsored, to raise funds for mesothelioma research.
Kimberly Stubbs, Chair of JHMRF, says: “Through action days like this one, we are able to raise awareness of mesothelioma and to call for better treatment and care for mesothelioma patients. The Merseyside Asbestos Support Group continues to support our research funding and we are very grateful to everyone who helped raise such a large amount of money. Thank you.”
