The disability route - benefits available

You may be able to claim benefits from several of these sections - You can claim:
One from section 1
Any or all from section 2
And possibly additional benefits from the remaining sections

1. Incapacity for work
Employer statutory sick pay - up to 28 weeks.
DSS Incapacity benefit - if SSP is not paid and enough N.I. contributions have been paid. No time limit.
DSS Severe disablement allowance - after 28 weeks if not enough N.I. contributions for Incapacity Benefit.

2. Industrial injury (accident/disease)
Industrial disablement benefits
Reduced earnings allowance - for injury or disease pre-1990.
Constant attendance allowance - IF 100% DISABLED
