First mesothelioma UK patient and carer day
The June Hancock Fund is proud to have awarded a grant to Mesothelioma UK, to finance the very first Mesothelioma UK Patient and Carer Day. Taking place in Manchester, on 5 October 2006, the aims of the day are threefold:

To give mesothelioma patients and carers an opportunity to meet and share experiences with others affected by the disease To provide good quality up to date and impartial information on mesothelioma To give mesothelioma patients and carers a forum to raise issues and ask questions to the panel.

This will be an important step towards our aim of improving the help and information available for those affected by mesothelioma. The panel will be made up of professionals involved in many of the important associated issues including specialist nurses, claiming benefits, asbestos support groups, palliative care, surgery, nutrition, oncology, compensation and many others.
