Why your support counts
Every penny counts
Every single penny you raise will go towards helping people who so desperately need support. We’re trying to help sufferers from Mesothelioma and end the unnecessary exposure to the causes of this disease – and all with very limited resources. You make it all possible.
The difference you can make
Have you considered all the different ways that you might raise money for mesothelioma research?
It doesn’t have to be time consuming or extravagant. Many of our fundraisers have started off with something relatively easy to plan such as a coffee morning, a cup cake stand at the local school or a table top sale.
The local ‘car boot’ sale is ideal too – you get to clear out all your old furniture, crockery, toys and bric-a-brac that you meant to clear out years ago, and you’d be amazed at how successful it can be!
Simply spreading the word about the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund is very beneficial too. Social media makes this even more effective. Why not try telling your friends and family about your fundraising via Twitter or Facebook?
Work colleagues are often pleased to be able to help with your fundraising. How about a ‘Wear Your Jeans to Work Day’ in return for a small donation? Or how about encouraging your employer to consider making a donation to match yours? Or ask your employer to make the Fund their chosen ‘Charity of the Year’?
You are our ‘voice’ for mesothelioma research – by encouraging friends, family and colleagues to support you with fundraising you will be amazed at what can be done! You can make a difference.
Our dependence on you
The June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund does not receive any central funding from Government, or from the public sector. This means that every June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund Award has been made up entirely from donations.
These donations have varied in amount between £1.00 and £65,000.00, but what matters is that they have been made, and they have gone straight into the pot for mesothelioma research. We are grateful for every donation we receive.
We are very lucky to have a wonderful group of fundraisers who donate regularly. Equally, we have people who have very often lost loved ones to mesothelioma, and who want to donate money in memory of that person to try and improve outcomes for future mesothelioma sufferers.
It is vital to our objectives as a mesothelioma research fund that we can rely on your support. It is only by continuing to receive donations that we can continue to fund high quality peer reviewed research into this disease. We desperately want to make a difference and we will make a difference, but we depend on you to help us by making a donation.
