Remembering June

JHMRF eventOn Friday 20 July 2007 in Millennium Square in the centre of Leeds , Kimberly Stubbs, June Hancock's daughter, was joined by fellow trustees of the JHMRF and supporters, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of June's death. The Ridings Asbestos Support and Awareness Group (RASAG) coordinated the event.

Adrian Budgen opened with a moving speech about June and his personal memories of her.

Local MP John Battle attended and spoke about the continuing threat that asbestos presents in other parts of the world.

John Battle MP (left)Dr Zsuzsanna Tabi, holder of the 2007 June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund Award travelled from Cardiff to be present. She gave an interesting overview of her work in immunology trying to find new ways of treating mesothelioma.

Despite the grey skies and chill wind, the rain held off for most of the day.
