Play recounting the story of asbestos in Leeds and the case of June Hancock 15 July 2009 to 18 July 2009 In 1993 June Hancock was diagnosed with mesothelioma, the cancer caused by exposure to asbestos while a child in 1930s Armley. The cancer that had killed her mother. June was not a woman to go quietly. Already ill, she took to trial J W Roberts, whose factory had put asbestos dust into the heart of Armley.
