Plans to resume asbestos mining in Canada have been abandoned following public pressure and a change of government. June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund patron Laurie-Kazan Allen said, “This is the result of years of campaigning by the global network of ban asbestos activists who have worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the asbestos hazard in Canada and abroad.
