April 4, 2025

Rest in peace Mavis Robinson. A true educator, stalwart, mentor, friend and colleague in the mesothelioma disease world. You will be truly missed by so many. Your legacy though will live on forever. Thank you.

Dr Kate Hill, founding Trustee of the June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund, gave this tribute to Mavis, “A friend and mentor when I first started working in research at Killingbeck Hospital 30 years ago. She was indeed inspirational and a true advocate for patients. RIP Mavis – you will be forever in our hearts.

Adrian Budgen, also a founding Trustee, paid this tribute, “I’m greatly saddened to say that dear Mavis Robinson has passed away; Mavis was a wonderful lady, a truly special person, and the first mesothelioma nurse in the UK. She was also June Hancock’s nurse. It was a tremendous privilege to have known her and she taught me a great deal. Rest in peace, dear Mavis.
